Attorney Nathan Olin of Olin Lippiello LLP was honored to be one of only a handful of Western Massachusetts lawyers invited to attend the October 2017 First Circuit Judicial Conference in Rockport, Maine. He came back invigorated and intellectually inspired.
According to Olin, “The programs, speakers, and camaraderie were all outstanding. And I particularly enjoyed communing with and learning from our lawyer and judge friends in Puerto Rico as they struggle with the delivery of justice in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. They all need our thoughts and support.”
At the conference, Nate was also able to meet and hear from both Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. and Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer of the United States Supreme Court. Associate Justice David Souter (retired) was also in attendance. “Meeting those judicial icons was a huge thrill,” said Olin. “But it was equally important to learn what other federal court practitioners are doing throughout the First Circuit.” (The United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit covers Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Puerto Rico.)
