On May 16, 2017, Attorney Lisa Lippiello attended the annual Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) conference at the DCU Center in Worcester. CPCS is the public defender agency of Massachusetts.
Attorney Jennifer Sellitti, of the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, provided the keynote address on Using Relationship Building, Communication and Empathy to Create Compelling Direct Examinations. The keynote was followed by workshop sessions on a wide variety of topics, including hot topics in criminal and child welfare law, challenging racial bias, substance use disorder, appellate advocacy, expert witnesses, client engagement, and end of life proceedings, among others.
